  • Wish me luck [cmine 700 cB0 going for the GiG :P]

    Well PPL

I have been trying to get my hands on a 650 cmine with the new cB0 stepping for ages now, with no luck what so ever ....So I have gone for the 700[Scode SL454]

I hope to hit the 1Ghz speed So wish me luck

Has anyone else in this forum had any sucess with the new stepping,I had seen that the old cA2 stepping was a bit of a pig but hopefully within the next day or so I will find out if the hype is right

    Regards Max-Payne

    Go for it Mathew!
My 650 will run at stock volts on a 142mz bus.
It's a cB0 also, that would put you at 994.
Very close to the golden gig.
    Is yours retail or oem?
    Which mother board?
    GOOD LUCK!!!
    chuck

Well I managed to get hold of a retail cpu for £240.00 and I am hoping to use my Abit Be6 .

If I have no luck with this mobo I will have to get the Be6 v2.I am pretty sure cpu permitting that I can do 980Mhz @ 140 fsb as I have been running my system at this speed for months[P3 450 @ 630 Mhz]100% stable

Also my brother is getting the same cpu as I and he has the Abit Be6 V2 Board.

So fingers XxXxXxXxXxX'ed and every thing else for that matter we will both be humming along at the GIG

I plan to get some 133Mhz ram this week too!!

I know what your thinking when I say get some 133 Mhz ram,but I have been very lucky with my pc 100 sdram So far anyway :P
its just that the memory that I have cannot quite do the 150 Mhz.It will work for a while if I use softfsb to increase it but after about 5 mins I get windows probs ..

But hey what the heck I only paid £70.00 for it in the first place LoL :P:P:P

I will post my results tommorrow with some benchmarks too "I hope" Laterz

Well I was not dissapointed buy this cpu

I got my PIII 700 cmine running @980 Mhz WeEeHaAAAAY sorry just getting a bit excited LoL :P:P
        Here are some benchmarks :-

        3D MARK99

        Default benchmark
        7712 3D Marks
        14775 Cpu marks

        System Specs

        G400 MAX
        P3 700 running at 980 mhz (140 fsb) 1.80v s-code SL454 Malay Retail
Alpha P3 125c Copper Embedded heatsink
        Abit BE6 Motherboard
128 mb pc 100 sdram (my lucky dimm)
        17.3gb Fujitsu h\d Udma 66
        21"Sony monitor
        SB Live Value
        Diamond Super Express 56i Modem
        Pioneer 10X DVD Drive
        Supermicro SC-750 full tower case

Believe it or not I think this chip will do 1050Mhz,I say this because I bummped the voltage as high as I could on my Be6 [1.85v]and used SoftFSB to try it out for size :P

As I had half expected it ran windows until I tried a few benchmarks, but im sure its my ram thats to blame hehehehe .

If anyone has any ideas as to where I can get hold of some Very High Quality ram then please forward the info to me THANX IN ADVANCE :P

I will find my copy of 3D Mark2000 and post some more benchmarks if anyone is interested.

Just set up a P3 700 cb0, upgrade on an Abit Bx6r2 with Micron PC125 ram.
I can get up to 903, 129 fsb.

That's the same fsb limit I had with my old P3-450.

Do you think it is the motherboard or ram or other that limits my search for 1 gig?
