tell me again...is this a dual channel adapter(..if it is, is the 68 pin connector channel a or b?)...or is it a single channel, "multiple connector" adapter(..if it is, then all the connectors are part of the same bus segment and the widest pin connector would determine the type of termination the bus needs).
also, the external connector on adaptec cards(..if my memory serves me correctly!), and probably all add-in adapters, is part of the bus segment of channel a(..dual channel especially).
that said, i think its' a termination problem. i bought one of those high-byte terminators from adaptec sometime ago and it was pricey($65 us). but without that high-byte terminated, all kinds of wierd problems can manifest themselves on the scsi bus.
