Paul, I can't speak for your MB, but some of the MBs that have power problems have fixes published. The one I saw involved an ASUS board that needed a connection made with a wire between two pins on the MB. This solved the problem for this board by increasing the power available to the video card.

If I find it I'll let you know. I saw photos and description of the procedure somewhere on the web (Maybe here on this forum last year?)

Here's one reference to the general problem: http://www.tweak3d.net/faq/#hw:gef:troub:inst:early

Thanks guys. Fortunately, these are test rigs I've been messing with. I installed the old PIII 550E at 733 MHz on the CUBX, and have the PIII 700 @ 931 on the AOpen board, and everything is fine so far. Unfortunately, the AOpen board doesn't have the temperature monitoring capabilities of the CUBX and the case doesn't have the cooling capacity.

Well, the AOpen system is there mostly for SETI, and it should do that well.

      Thanks again.
