    700MHz CPU, 133MHz FSB

    Sorry for all the questions lately, but since I'm upgrading soon, I'll probably be buggin you all more.

    How do you get 700MHz from 133Mhz FSB? I get 5.25X133Mhz? Is it because the FSB is actually 100 or 200MHz(athlon) and the SDRAM is 133Mhz? Then you would get 7x100MHz or 3.5X200MHz whihc would make more sense. Please straighten this out for me.

    I don't think there is such a beast. There is a 700 (7*100), and a 733 (5.5x133).
    I just ordered a 700, and plan on trying to get it to run at 7*133=931, but I'll be real happy even if I can just get 7*124.

      It depends on whether you are talking about Intel or AMD chips. In the case of Intel, DarkSyd has it exactly. In the case of AMD, there is the 200mhz EV6 bus that runs from the CPU to the FSB I believe. Then the 100mhz FSB from which everything else is based. On KX133/KT133 based boards it has the option to Async the RAM to +33mhz. So, with Via Apollo 133(KX, 133Pro, KT)chipsets you can have a 100/133 cpu/mem, or 133/133 cpu/mem.
