I intend to buy a P3 700 (retail). I would like to overclock in order to get my money's worth. For best performance with overclocking I know I need a chip with cBo stepping (SL45Y or SL454) . I can identify such a chip by its markings on the chip itself but is it possible to do this by looking at the labelling of the sealed retail box? If so what markings do I look for? Many thanks in anticipation.

Look at the side of the box with all the bar codes. You will find the PROD. CODE. At the end of this series of letters and numbers you will find the S-Spec (starting with SL). Find one with the numbers you want. That'll do it!
