Thanks Greebe...but found another freeware prog. that syncs with a on-line clock. Small and works fine. This buddy I built the 'puter for still hasn't replaced the battery, so I guess he's not that bothered by it. I still want to re-flash the BIOS and clear it, and perhaps will have an opportunity this weekend...

xortam: "Speaking of time ... why do the last two posts show 12:41 and 12:42 vs. 00:41 and 00:42?
the 12:41 is probably a fluke in the UBB software saying it's after midnight. I usually think it's strange to see it go to that different notation as well
Just to see the next post be at 01:02 or something alike

can someone tell me when will love come home?

Boy, that was a delayed reaction Jord.
00:00 is midnight GMT. Those posts were made just after midnight, 00:41 and 00:42 (see the d/t of the posts prior to and after those posts) but were stamped as mid-day GMT. I saw the time correct itself (change by 12 hours) at one point perhaps on the response page. It then (and still does) reverted to the incorrect time (see d/t of next few posts). I will agree with you that this is apparently a UBB bug. Is it reproducible? I've never seen this before. Maybe I'll try to recreate it by posting around midnight. I'm not aware of any time services anomaly that might occur around that date.<TABLE BGCOLOR=Red><TR><TD><Font-weight="+1"><font COLOR=Black>The world just changed, Sep. 11, 2001</font></Font-weight></TR></TD></TABLE>

Gonna have to watch the post times a little closer...I usually pay little attention to them.
As far as the original problem, my buddy replaced the CMOS battery and now says that the clock has been fine for three days running. As a tech, not sure I can explain it, since I thought it all was crystal dependant, but as long as it works, then WTF...
Thanks for all the help guys...
