  • Abit Va6 + Cellly II 566 NOT compatible??

    Hi,

i just set up an computer with an Abit Va6 motherboard (latest bios) and an Celeron II 566 (with ASUS Smart Slot1 converter).

First thing i noticed during boot was that the mobo said: Pentium III 567E (4.5x126)

I then tried to set the correct settings in softmenu and found out i CAN't set it at 8.5x66 (multiplier 8.5 doesn't exist).

I tried some other settings and found out that whatever i filled in at softmenu there where 2 options:
1 Comp would not boot at all
2 Comp boots at 4.5x126, says cpu is unworkable, i press F1 and can boot windows

How on earth can it be 4.5x126? As far as i know 126 bus isn't an legit setting for this mobo, and 4.5 isn't an legit setting for the celeron (locked at 8.5???)

How do i set this up correctly??

    Michel

I think you may have to buy an adaptor (Or do a bit soldering) to use the new celeron on these boards I maybe wrong though.
