I installed my new Aureal SQ1500 soundcard yesterday and it went like on rails . Not one problem with IRQ's or anything at all, game sound worked fine too, not like the Megacrap-soundblaster PCI64 wich wouldn't in anyway avoid collision.
I should have bougth this card long ago

Aureal does good work. Too bad their future looks so dim. You may not see any more driver updates.

P.S. Their web-site has been down for weeks now and that's not a good sign.

Support site is still up, Windows 9x drivers are very good, about the Win2k ones I don't know.
So if you stay on Windows 98 or go with ME there's no problem.
If you go the Win2k way you don't know if you'll have any new drivers.

Can you supply a URL for that Andrei? I haven't been able to connect to www.a3d.com or www.aureal.com in a while.

That would be http://support.aureal.com . It is a shame; they made some fine sound cards.

Thanks! I had previously downloaded 3.12 A3D drivers but Aureal support shows 2.25 as the latest. Whazzup with that? vortex of sound shows 3.12 as current though. I already had the 2048 Vortex2 Win98 drivers, so nothing new there. Same ol, same ol, life goes on.

Yeah, I know their future is quite dark, but I'm sure gonna enjoy it while it lasts! Haven't planned on installing win2000 anyway..
Hey, It's built on NT (not tested) technology

I got a MX300. It's a nice card, but Diamond never updated the damn drivers (and probably never will). I'm using the refernce drivers from Aureal. Aureal's future is in doubt, so I won't be expecting any more driver updates from them. I would've gotten a SBLive!, but A3D sounds MUCH better. I hope a company like Creative Labs gets the A3D technology, they can't let it die.

I hope creative doesn't and somebody else does. "LiveWare!", enough said.

Well, Creative is the only real company that has enough resources to do anything with it. I never actually used Liveware or a SBLive!, so I can't say anything about that (but I did install a SBLive! in my sister's machine).

You don't HAVE to install the BulkWare! You have a choice. Just install the drivers, although I like the mixer and the environments

I think that would be a good match too!
                              They did right with Hercules.
