    Sisyfos,

The work-around is Rt2K specific (special driver for systems with Max64MB apperture).

The AGP apperture is there in the bios, but it is called "Graphics Window Size" in Advanced/Chip Configuration.

ps. everyone wanting 256MB AGP apperture, email Asus, and we might get it in 6months. (that's how long it took them to fix the disabled LPT showing up in W9x)

The "Graphics Window Size" is (I think) only for the onboard VGA. If you disable it, the option changes to "UC/UCSW".
It seems though that onboard VGA disables itself if you plug in an AGP card, and the manual leaves me a bit confused.

Ok, you are probably right, I'll have to do some more testing.

I had disabled the onboard Adapter already, but somehow it had come back, and was still showing the 32/64MB options.

I can't find this board for less than 165.00
          This is way too much...

I just tried the different settings, and "Graphics Window Size" does indeed set the aperture size (as per Sandra 2000).
If you disable "Onboard VGA" and thus hiding the "Graphics Window Size" option, you would have to set it to 64MB beforehand otherwise you're left with 32MB.
That's rather transparent, don't you think

              Sisyfos,

Ok, now we just have to try every possible combination of the different Bios settings, just in case they have hidden the 256MB AGP apperture behing an other option

(or start bugging Asus about it)

I just saw in a post on alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.asus that the limit of 64MB is in i815(E).
I haven't confirmed this, but it just might be true, as the 512MB RAM limit.

On another note. I once knew a swede that taught me some foul language in finnish.
He said it meant "Got to hell", but I never knew how to spell it. I'll try though:
"Dorrbakini jabeino (h)elvetin" please correct me.
He also taught me the quite opposite: "Minia rakastan sinua".
Maybe you'll get a good laugh out of those, that is if you're even finnish (just glanced it from your profile).

Well, I'll go back to watching my Seti@home, that IS a very exciting program.

You had me wondering there for awhile, but having said the first sentence out loud, I got it

It's "Turpa kiinni ja painu helvettiin" - meaning "Shut up and go to hell".
The second one was almost correct "Minä rakastan sinua".

I'm not even going to try to translate them to Danish, as the guys at the Danish company, which I was working for in the past, always got a somesort of hysteric fit after me trying to say something in Danish

                  I'm Finnish allright,

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I'm off to insult unknowing victims. That is, until I accidentally bump into a Finn with a knife

Back to the ongoing CUSL2 saga.
Here's a link to the downloadable i815 datasheet in .pdf

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look.

The first sentence is not that dangerous, but the second one can get you really into some serious trouble (irrespective of the gender of the Finn )
