RE: Packet CD problems using Plexwriter 8432/A drive.
Hi please can you help me, I am fed up with my Plexwriter 8432/A drive,
with regards to using PacketCD.
- Most of the time explorer will just hang (hourglassed) if I insert a packet CD or
worse both my CD devices won't even appear
in MyComputer! (I have a Samsung 10x DVD ROM drive sharing the secondary IDE as a slave). Note: If no packet CD is in the plexwriter drive then the devices will appear!
- Using the compressed option is even more unreliable, it takes endless reboots and
F5/refreshes to make Windows recongnise there's even a disk inserted.
Note: Having insert notifcation on or off makes no difference to my problems.
- After inserting a new blank disk, the format disk option won't appear 99%
of the time, so I have to manually run the CeQuadrat format CD application.
- Before a disk is successfully recognised as a packet CD, the player seems to whire
endlessly and my PC is completely locked out (hourglassed) during the process which
is frustrating. If I try to abort by pressing the eject button, I get 'blue screened'
by Windows and have to reboot.
I have the latest firmware installed on the drive (1.07) and the latest drivers CeQuadrat
drivers installed.
Can you tell me if this is the norm and that CeQuadrat packet CD is just 'rubbish' or could there be a drive fault or may I have a problem with my PC configuration?
Here is some info...
