    Guyver:

Thats WAY too high (althought some in here may argue this). If it's possible, you should always run PCI as close to spec as possible. Keeping PCI in spec means one less reason to fail when overclocking. Personally, I'd be running at 124/31.

      Hmmm....

ARBYMO: Yes, now that I think about it, the 800 CB0 stepping would be best... Just ordered one.

The Rock: I know that running outside of spec isn't the best. (I use an Adaptec 29160N that absolutely refuses to run higher than 34Mhz) in my other rig. But in this case it was the only way to offset the performance loss of running @ 120Mhz FSB (can't very well run the PCI bus @ 30Mhz - that would be too slow ) It's stable in either mode, but faster @ 40Mhz. All other components have been running very well with little instability.

Once the new proc is in, it will be back to 133FSB and 1/4PCI (33.3333.. Mhz) and 2/3 AGP (89Mhz) for me...

It will suit me just fine I think.

This is one time, when I wish this forum hadn't screwed the pooch so many times and lost my original startup date. Been with this forum under the Guyver handle for a lot longer than the date posted in my user info area.... Almost makes me feel like a newbie...

LOL Guyver, I thought you had been here longer than that At least you're not a miniMURCER

What stepping is/was your PIII 850? I was under (the false) impression that all currently available PIII's were CB0.

All PIIIs 800 and up are cB0 steppings.
Except the 1.13 GHz of course, which is cC0 stepping.
Less than 800 you've got the cA2 stepping as well, but I gather it has mostly been replaced by the cB0, which is dual capable btw. The cA2 apparently wasn't.
