  • WinME june 2000 dev edition, is it most recent?

Also is it a worth while upgrade, bear in mind I have to do a complete reinstall anyway.

Just didnt want to install it if there was a newer build version.

The final build has been done - I'm not sure about the number but 25xx seems familiar. If your copy is a number like this then it's probably the most recent.

    Where'd you get it anyway?

    Paul.

Build 3000.2 aka 3000 is the final RTM build.

          Thanks spoogenet,

So you'll still need to find out the build number - I don't know what your copy is but WinME was released to manufacturing a while back so an August edition would be newer but I doubt there actually is one. I dunno what the August on yours means.

          Paul.

I've aleady started using WinME quite a bit.
Besides some cosmetic changes, I've only really noticed that it boots a little quicker.
While at home i have not had a problem, at work there are some active movie filters that just won't install ( ie. Texas instument 1394 card). Besides that, I heard of someone else not being able to use their local ADSL service. For now, i would hold on till its released.

I've used WinMe a bit too. And aside from the more frequent crashes than I get in Win98SE on the same hardware it's pretty much Win98SE, or should I say Third Edition? Oh, and the faster booting, and stripped down DOS.

Well, that's what I've noticed so far.
