    Thanks for the reply.

I did that. The PC without the printer (Win98) requested a password (??) Both PCs saw each other, but no drives on the other computer were accessible in either case.

Actually, I haven't tried sharing the printer yet. First I want to see drives.

One issue is the Win98 PC has a shitload of network services enabled. I have already disabled Dial-up networking.

Have you set any drives on the PC as 'shared'.

Open 'My Computer' or the equivelent on your PC that you want to share from.

Right click on the drive to share.

If you have file and printer shareing set in the 'Networking' controle panel, you will get the option of 'shareing'. Go in there and set the paramiters you want, set full access without a passward just keep it simple till you can see it working; them change as you see neccessary.

Go to other PC go into 'Network Neighborhood', see if you can see the drive in the 1st PC.

      You should.

Thanks for the hint. I now have the system working correctly. Took a bit more than that to get the Win98 computer to see the drives in the W2K computer, though. I had to map the W2K computer drives in the Win98 computer as well as give the Win98 user administrator privledges.

        Thanks again.
