  • Question about UPS and/or Power conditioning

I have a quick question. My apartment has somewhat dirty power. Whenever my fridge (or the fridge of the guy upstairs) turns on or off, the digital sound from my sblive to my jvc receiver cuts out. I assume that's due to voltage fluctuations. My question is, does a normal UPS (like an APC BackUPS Office) straighten that out, or do I need a power conditioner (like the APC Line-R)?

Also, do you think it's the receiver or the sblive that's sensitive to the power spikes? It is definitely only the digital signal that's affected, since the headphones plugged into the speaker jack on the sblive never cut out.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

AFAIK, all the APC UPS models also offer line conditioning...check their website...
