I don't know anyone offhand that's done it, but the AMD irongate chipset is compatable. If I'm not hugely mistaken it'll work fine.

One of my co-workers did this, but it wasn't easy.
He had a classic Athlon and it was working fine for him. He got a t'bird 700, and it would not boot.
He had to get an unreleased beta bios that does not pass all of the AMD certification tests with the t'bird. It works fine for my coworker, though. He is running linux on his system, and it has an uptime of about a month. (He usually recompiles his kernel more frequently than that!)
I'm sure that he still has a copy of that bios and would be willing to send you a copy of it.

Gotta love that MSI 6167. Is it just me or has anyone else killed a Duron lately.
*Greebe*
Abit KT7, no video, no beep , fan spins, HDs start to spin up... seems to be a dead CPU, what do you think (bios is KT7_UL.bin). Problem is that no one around here has a Duron or mobo to test on. Just feeling kinda frustrated as I got the Duron/KT7 on Wednesday. The thing ran 98SE. 2000, BeOS 5 and Mandrake 7.1 like a dream. It seemed to be running hot so I took it off and put more HS compound on it and voila ... tha above scenario.
Do you perchance sell Durons preinstalled on a MB. I may be interested in something like that.[size=1]D3/\/7YCR4CK3R

Dumb me. I think something was shorting out on the mobo or case or cards. Stripped it down to bare essentials (G400 only), got normal sequence. Put in cards one by one with no problems. BTW I said this in another thread. What's a good fan to buy for a Duron specifically. I was using a fan recommended for a Thunderbird. I'll be checking the web but if anyone has good experiences with Duron fans I'd appreciate it. BTW I hate putting on the Thunderbird fan.[size=1]D3/\/7YCR4CK3R

Dc,
Currently using an Alpha Pal6035mfc,it's good, but this fan and heatsink performs almost as well for 1/2 the price.
Get the bigger one.
Use heatsink compound sparingly on the slug only.
Instructions for installation or on the site, worth checking it out.Good quality product. http://www.store.yahoo.com/taisol/
