dsl speeds, does this sound right?

I have dsl.
I pay $49/mo for 384/128 but get 1200/110.
I get 140-150kbps downloads from good servers.
The way it works here (Oklahoma City)is that what you buy is the minimum speed.
HOWEVER, if your line's natural speed goes over what you bought you get locked to the minimum!
I lucked out. My line runs 1400 to the CO. If I had been closer and it had run 1500 (the next pay step) they would have locked me down to 384. Whew!

On Media One in the Boston area I was getting 7ms pings to the ISP's machines, and 1ms pings (yes, 1ms!) to other users in my area. When another Media One person was hosting a Q3 match I had an EXTREMELY unfair advantage. I was the LPB from hell.

To other servers I was pinging like 10-15.

Here on RCN cable I have no idea of my ping since the cable is one-way and all results are poo.

1ms?? I only get 1ms on the LAN, to my DSL router. Outside of that, lowest is 5ms (I am in NYC, ISP gateway out in northern NJ). Gee, I feel dumb, I pay $200/month and someone paying 40/month gets better pings
