  • Two little questions about WinMe

Hello to everyone. Yesterday I made a clean install of Win Me on my system and (almost) everything worked perfectly including the latest certified drivers of our beloved Matrox (even if I had to foce agp 2x through registry settings).

Ok, now I see people around the forum saying : “what do you want then?” and so here are two easy (obviously not for me) questions:

    1) when I insert a CD, my shortcut to CD changes according to the program I’m installing (or the music I’m listening to), but when I eject the disk (right mouse click, eject) the icon shortcut doesn’t change anymore. If I want to turn the original icon back, I have to delete the shortcut and create a new one. Anyone knows how I can fix this?

    2) In Win Me there is the (new) possibility to backup your system configuration (will this stop messed up registry entries?). I’ve made 3 backups and now I would like to delete the oldest one. Is there a way to do it?. This procedure takes up HD space!

I am aware these are not the most outstanding questions which have been posted, but thanks in advance for any appreciated help.

    Ciao.

    Daniele.

    Thank you very much EdSki.

So far WinMe has not automatically created any restore point. I've created three points manually and I would like to delete the first created restore point.

    Bye.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but you can set the amount of disk space system restore uses:
right click 'My computer'--->'performance' tab--->'File sytem'-->'System Restore' slide.
(If not enough space is available System Restore won't work!)

Win me automatically creates restore points. You only should make one manually if you plan a big change to your system.
