  • Probs with Liveware for winMe

    Hello!

I kindly ask you your opinion on the following matter:

I've downloaded new Liveware! 3.0 for winMe
but, during installation, everything seems to get stuck at 99% (file processed DEFAULT.ECW). The system does not freeze, but in the installation window remaining time increases second by second.
I'm currently using an Italian version of winMe, while downloaded Liveware are in English language.

    Any idea?

    Thanks.

Do you want to know how to crash winMe? (I read that someone succeded in crashing win2000..)

    Here’s the story:

After trying to install without success Liveware, I realized that when installation started slowing down (99%, processed file DEFAULT.ECW), the routine had already copied all setup files in windows temp directory. So, without exiting from install (deltemp would have erased every file), I moved all setup files into another folder and after I quit installation.
The next step was to launch setup and, after rebooting, have Liveware for winMe installed. But, after a second reboot, came the surprise: winMe crashed at startup (error in explorer.GUI). After three bad re-boot, I got into provisory mode and……….SAME ERROR AGAIN (it still crashed). Luckily, through automatic help, I was able to use the restore feature (it works!) and have my system back working.
But I did not give up: I re-launched Liveware setup and installed it, but, before re-booting, I also installed stand-alone SBLive! drivers for win-Me. Then I rebooted five times without any problem so far.

    Kindest regards,

    Daniele.
