I'm shocked that ATi actually responds to email.

    Good forum thread though.

Matrox tech support (USA) does since Haig got hold of it. Can't comment about the UK tech support only used it once in dark days of Matrox tech support and yup they didn't answer.

The Matrox does have a perfect clear and sharp image without any noticable disortion.
          ´nuff said.

              Interesting thread, really.

But it keeps me far away from buying a Radeon. Call me crazy, but I really considered buying one. This thread cured me

Good thread, sensible guys, they know matrox roxx. There is someone there that posts here sometimes too. I still fear having to depend on ATi for drivers (still waiting on my TV Wonder version 2.0 CD that I ordered in August)

Let me shed some light on the topic.

People should NOT be concerned with this issue as to completely AVOID this card....read on if interested.

                    Radeon and trinitron monitors:

Yes there appears to be an issue with SOME HIGH END Trinitron monitors and ATI Radeon video cards. Many people (including myself..Sony 420GS) do NOT have the problem. The only consistency is that the newest Trinitrons (ex. Sony FD series 19 inches and larger) have this issue more frequently.

Consequently, as long as you buy a computer item (like the Radeon) from a place with a solid return policy you really shouldn't be worried regardless of the monitor you have. Try it....no go...return it.

                    Regards,

                    JeffD

                    Currently own a:
                    Radeon (main system)
                    G400 (wife's/second system)
                    Voodoo 3000 (kid's system)
Retired a TNT2 Ultra from wife's system once bought the Radeon.
