I tried out my friend's explorer and I didn't like the way it feels.

I've got a Razer Boomslang 1000. Best $80 I've ever spent. I'm about ready to pass this one on to my wife's computer and get me a Razer 2000.

I've got the logitech optical wheel mouse (small one, can't stand these hulking great mice ).

The build quality seems good, and it works great.

The drivers are nice and stable, but I don't really like the interface to them that much. Luckily I don't tend to mess with it that often.

The mouse can be made to lose track of its position if I move it really fast, but its not a problem for me because I always set the sensitivity really high for gaming so I don't move the mouse very far or fast.

I have Inteli mouse exploder and it is excelent, but second side-button is for me unusable because I have small hands 8-(. Also pushing mouse around is not easy, it's because have four big points of contact and stupid inflexible cabel. Anyway In.Mo.Ex. is best mouse what I ever have in my hand.

I've had the intellimouse explorer since they first came out. I work from home so use it on average 10 hrs a day.

Then I start playing UT and use it another 2. The only problem being occasionally when moving real fast I end up looking directly up at the sky. Not much of a prob in DM but not the best in Assault.

The mouse is superior to anything else I have used. It took a while to get use to weight as a lot lighter without the rubber coated metal ball.

To get the 2 side buttons working I had to remap them to PageUp/PageDn in Mouse applet in control panel. Got to love having 7 commands on the mouse.

To use the side buttons in games you have to set them in Control Panel to simulate keypresses the game would otherwise allow.

So you can set it to F6 or F7 and the game will think you are pressing those keys while you are in fact only pressing the side buttons on the mouse.

Works great for throwing grenades in TFC.

I was at my friend's house the other day. He has a Intellimouse Optical (not the explorer, the plain Intellimouse one). I tried it, and it feels about the same as my current cordless Logitech. I noticed a slight "lag" between me moving the mouse and the on-screen response, but I'm not too sure. However, he was using PS/2 instead of the USB, so this may be a factor. One annoyance I've noticed about my Logitech is that it lags when I repeatedly hit the mouse buttons (like using the pistols in CS). This didn't happen on his mouse, but then again, it doesn't happen on any other mouse I've used either.

i have the intellimouse explorer connected via usb.

No matter how fast i shake it about i cannot get it to get lost. When i return the mouse the original position, the pointer is in exactly the same spot. I use the default mouse drivers in both win2k and win98, i will never install mouse software ever! It lets me hold onto grenades as long as i want in TFC (great for doing the HWG suicide ritual :-)).

The cord is too stiff though, can move the mouse if you leave it leant against something
