There are a couple of chipsets which look promising but have very little support as of yet.
There's the chipset used in the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (and a couple other cards) as well as the chipset used in the new Philips high-end card.
Both of these run around the same price as the SB Live!, however all the QSound support in the world does little good when all games support EAX at this point.

gurm is that sig bruce cambell and thsat stupid but good film i saw a while ago, he loses an arm but ends up straping a chainsaw or something on the stump! cant for the life of me think what it was called. ah well never mind!
