  • AGP on KT133 disabled in Windows NT ?

    Hello.

I have a problem with functioning of AGP in WinNT 4. I have ABIT KT7 + Matrox G400 AGP 16 MB SDRAM. When i run WCPUID, the program displays, I have AGP 1x and 2x supported, but displays status - AGP disabled !!!
It's the same, if I have disabled AGP 4x in BIOS, or enabled. Where is the problem ?
With my previous MB with VIA MVP3 chipset, all functioning correctly...

Windows NT 4.0 does not support AGP. Period. WCPUID is reporting correctly that AGP is disabled. If it worked on a previous motherboard I don't know how you got it to work, but if you don't believe me you can go look it up on MicroSoft's site.

Windows NT 4.0 does support AGP.
You must have at least SP3 installed.
I have installed SP6a, and I am sure,
that AGP on previous mainboard was
        functioning correctly.

Tesar, quoting Rags from two days ago...
"You can use an AGP device in NT, but it's treated as a PCI device only. No SBA, no AGP transfers, etc."
Both Hedspaz and Rags are absolutely correct. Period.

            Another second here,

WinNT does not support AGP regardless of any service packs. All AGP display cards are operating as PCI device at 66MHz. That's all.
