    PC chips M726MRT

    OK OK OK OK !!

    Stop laughing please. I am gonna ask a really stupid question now. I have one of the above boards sitting on a shelf in my shed. I am wondering whether i can stick a slotket and a celeron 2 init and run as a third system. I would give it a try to see what happens but i dont want to fry the chip with 2 volts if the board only supports the old cellys and p3s. I have looked through the book and cant see a spec sheet which mentions the cpu voltage.

    Anyone know?

    don't you need a few extra bits of hardware to get that thing working,like psu,memory & videocard?? lol

      obviously i have all that sort of stuff laying around too. i got so much old crap in the shed you wouldnt believe.

      Still need to know whether it'll work tho

        I would think it depended on the minimum voltage the voltage regulator could supply. if its 2V, then even using a slocket set at 1.8V,the sucker won't boot because of the board's inability to supply the voltage! if it's 1.8V then you could be in luck.

          or if i'm not then the CPU could get fried. I dont want that :-)

            Some slotkets have a built in voltage regulator...
