Paul(s), I'd take a wild stab at roughly 10-12 cfm with that fan (free air)... even less mounted. Booo Hisss Booo

      Thanks!

I think you guys are right. The fan looks like it has raised its flag on the continent of "Suckage."

I wonder if something us wrong -- other than design and execution that is.

I know the FOP 38 is a nice (and loud!!) heatsink, but I didn't expect it to cut CPU temperature in half.

I noticed that the Intel heatsink in the http://www.fullon3d.com/reports/hsfcomp/index.shtml review was the latest one with the curved fins. And it still Sucked!!!!!!!!

No wonder the OEM computer manufacturers like Dell and Gateway use their own heatsinks and ducted cooling instead of the one that Intel provides.

I see a lot of new Intel heatsinks these days, while building new PCs for various Sony departments internally at Sony Logistics, and I must say they're a LOT bigger than the one in the picture Pauly showed. Higher (about 4 inches tall) with a base of solid copper or aluminium (I'll check tomorrow, if I can, and they're not glued to the CPU )

On top of them is, what seems, a normal Pentium cooler.

All of those PC's are Compaq 733's, Intel 810 chipset, i815 all on board garbage. At least their footprint is small, the mobo comes with it's own light (plug it in at the mains, and a green light shines readily ), with 4 PCI slots and an AGP slot that I don't think anyone can use without bending his card into a wokkel (Dutch people will understand that ).

Hmmms, the heatsink? Too big for such an underpowered PC!! At least it works for these critters

I'll try to get a shot of one of them to show you.

I don't think those tall ones you see are from Intel. I think Dell, Compac, Gateway and other OEM computer manufacturers add their own heatsinks to OEM Intel processors to save money and possibly because they know how worthless the Intel heatsinks are...LOL
