I'll hangon to it for a few more posts, Matt. We should be able to handle his requests from what little I can tell now. Only after finding out where he lives and what he's trying to actually accomplish first will I possibly need to move it.

I think he wants something like the Rainbow Runner G-series: a TV tuner card with video capture capabilities.

There used to be a problem with the G200 and the TV Wonder. I don't think that's the case anymore, but I'd check with ATI first. (Of course, there are issues with the TV Wonder and the Radeon, but we won't get into that. It works with most other boards.)

I'll tell you this. If you decide to go with the TV Wonder, I'd imagine you'd have some potential tech support problems if something goes wrong. It may be difficult to determine responsibility.

Sorry for all folks!!! I was upset because I had a good tuner(with Bt878KHF chipset made by Rockwell and Philips RF component)
and it was burned by the motherboard(it's a very long story) and
now I need to buy another tuner.
What I want from my next tuner:
          -to capture well videos/shows
-to have a good frequency scanner(1mhz increments; 0,25mhz increments; or even an simple and good scanner)
-to have no problems with my G400
-to have a good RF component and a clear and powerful sound
          -to have teletext
I just need a simple tuner with no special connections.I am interested only to capture videos and
nothing else.My tv signal is PAL BG,DK.I'm living in Eastern Europe.
Could you tell me more about ATI TV WONDER(max capture resolution, compresion, quality),in case if I don't find a tuner recomended by you?
I don't want to upset anybody,so please forgive me.

Cu, I have and many others most likely would suggest one of Hauppauge's TV tuner cards, here in the US, but especially in Europe.

Don't get the ATI TV Wonder. OK I have one and if you are unfortunate enough t oget it with Version 1.0 of the TV Tuner software you are screwed. Well maybe not but I can tell you this, it will trash EzCD Creator 4.0 . As a matter of fact EzCd Creator will be fubar if you install version 1.0 of the tuner software. If you don't plan to use EzCD Creator the ntake the chance. I didn't find the video capture to be of a particularly high quality. The software (apart from the fact that it replaces mfc42.dll with a way older version) is nice and you can have the TV as your wallpaper. Oh and it doesn't work in Win2k, there are some beta drivers out there but just say no. I yhink the Winnov Videum is a good card, ask Gurm.

Scratch Pinnacle and go for Hauppauge !

Seriously ... further you should do a search in these forums for 'TV card' and you'll see that Hauppauge's Win TV series works like a charme with Matrox's DualHead ...

I personally use the WinTV DVBs (DigitalVideoBroadcast satelite) and I'm pretty pleased with it although it doesn't offer any analog capture capabilities
At least it lets me bounce the MPEG2 stream that comes down from the satelite directly onto my HD and that's enough for me.

                    Cheers,
                    Maggi
