Does anyone have any information about a G400 and Windows 98 SE shutdown problem?
The equipment is a Matrox G400 32MB SG RAM single and dual head video cards. We are running them in various PC Chips slot-1 motherboards and an Intel Seattle-2 motherboard.
We have flashed the motherboards with their latest BIOS files and downloaded the latest Matrox video card drivers. We are running a fresh load of Windows 98 SE with no other applications installed other than the shutdown patch.
The problem is when you go to shutdown or restart, it starts to shut down - but comes up with a blue VXD error screen. When you press enter to continue - it goes back to the shutdown screen - but the machine is locked up - and the mouse cursor no longer moves. The machine requires a hard boot to restart.
We changed the video settings to standard VGA and there are no problems - so we are thinking that it is driver related.
Has anyone else had this problem - and if so is there a fix?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide!
Regards,
Jason
