CD autorun disappeared

I’m running WinMe and yesterday I installed (after trying various dvd players) my good “old” Matrox DVD player. Everything works great, but I lost autorun feature on my CD/DVD ROM. I mean:

- if I insert a DVD movie, it automatically starts
- if I insert a music CD, it automatically plays
- if I insert a game/app CD, which has always automatically started, nothing happens!

I have auto insert notifify set to on an I tried to toggle it off and then on again (after re-booting), but nothing happened.
In registry auto insert notify is set to 01 value.

Could you please help me to defeat this stupid bug?

P.S.: I posted this thread here 'cause I'm not sure it directly related to Matrox DVD players, but most likely to some registry messing up due to too many installations.

Sure u havn't used tweakui or similar to turn off autorun data cd's?

Windows can be configured to autorun Audio OR data cd's with some prgs. What it does with dvd or which category it falls into i dunno, but it sounds like autorun audiocd is enabled and autorun data is not.

The problem is I'm afraid I would need to restore some registry entries.

since you've got ME, can you not try using system restore?
