I used the in-windows BIOS updater and it erased the eeprom, then programmed it OK, but failed to Verify it.... also the file's a .BIN and not a .AWD file? Does this matter? Should I use the DOS Award Updater?
I chickened out and reflased 1005B (.AWD file and verify worked)....

Steve I also used a .bin and had no problems, but I don't think its a good idea to use the in-windows flash utility, I have read of several people having problems with it. This also applies to the Asus-updater! In any case I much prefer to restart in dos using shift+F5 during boot.
I have read that it is important to disable byte merging in the bios before updating it!!
As to what has changed, if your mobo is rev 1.04 you can use the jumperless multiplier setting in the bios I dont think this will work for earlier revs' . They have also altered/added some minor settings in the bios. Other than that I havent noticed any differences, btw the idle temp has dropped!
