Oh by the way, while i was talking to supermicro's tech support,he was also trying to convince me to ditch the board and wait a month or 2,it looks like they have some cool new boards coming up.

One of them is a dual board based off via's new DDR chipset for dual p3's up to 1.7 ghz(that includes the new 0.13 micron version as well).

The other however,is based off serverworks new chipset(the ws version),check out the awsome features on that chipset...

    www.serverworks.com/frames/prodWS_frame.html .
    note to self...

Assumption is the mother of all f***ups....

    Primary system :
P4 2.8 ghz,1 gig DDR pc 2700(kingston),Radeon 9700(stock clock),audigy platinum and scsi all the way...

It would have been nice if Supermicro told you about their problems with getting slockets to work with the board before you went through all that trouble.

SUPERMICRO IS MAKING A MOTHERBOARD BASED ON A VIA CHIPSET?? SHOOT ME NOW! I think I've seen everything.

      http://www.supermicro.com/PRODUCT/MotherBoards/SUPER%2 0370SDA%20SPECIFICATIONS_files/SUPER%20370SDA%20SPECIFICATIONS.htm

What is the world coming to? Before you know it, they'll be making motherboards for those new fangled Athlon CPU's. (I wonder if I'll live to see it.)

Good to see you got this resolved. I had a feeling there were a couple of PIII 933's in your friends future. I have a FC-PGA PIII 933 on an i815EP motherboard. It's pretty fast, and I think your friend will be happy.

Onboard auto-switching power regulator supports CPU core voltages from 1.3 ~ 3.5 volts

Well, it's good to see some things never change.

Well...in part it was my fault, since i knew that their adapter woudn't work in dual configuration and i believed that the asus adapter would since it was certified to run on dual p3 machines so i assumed that since the cpu interface is a fixed standard that everyone has to follow precisely....

Well you know the rest... .

Now you know why building dual or even worse, quad boards isn't easy and not every manufacturer is up to the challenge.

          Here's my next signature....
