  • Intel D815EEA with sblive

I have this combination running fine under Windows 2000. I've never run Windows98 on it, so I can't really give any hints for running with that OS.

The only thing I can really suggest is that you make sure the ACPI stuff is enabled. You should end up with most of your hardware running on one IRQ, but this is not a problem.

I'm currently running a Asus CUSL2-C mobo (815EP chipset) on win98SE without any problems. Do you use the shared slots of that mobo?

      Intel D815EEA with sblive

      Hi,

I'm trying to assemble this combination for a friend.
Seems like it always get a I/O conflict with M/b resources(Primary IDE) after power on. But it will work fine after a soft reboot.
      I'm using win98se and all latest drivers/bios.
      Onboard audio is disabled.

I have consulted the shopkeeper but he says there's some hardware issues between i815 chipset & sblive and recommend i top-up $$ to change to a more expensive Asus M/b.

I personally thinks he's crazy coz i myself is using a Dell dimension 4100(using i815) with sblive without any problem.

Is there anyone using this combination with this problem ?

      Regards.

P.S. Should any of you murcers come to Singapore for a computer part shopping spree, REMEMBER! DON'T TRUST THE SHOPKEEPERS.

It doesn't matter which slot i use, i tried all of them.

Looks like only 4 options left:
1)Onboard audio(although disabled) conflicting with sblive
2)Onboard gameport conflict. But it cannot be disabled in bios.
        3)OS problem
        4)Faulty M/b

So far Intel tech supp based in Philipines is giving me rotten suggestions.

I think the best bet now is to change this M/b to 815EP without all the onboard stuff.

        Regards.

I can't tell about the onboard things but it's not the OS 'cus I use the same as yours. Faulty mobo.... maybe. Do you have a Asus CUSL2 mobo? If so I recommand you to post that question on the Cusl2 forums.

            I going to get a CUSL2-C as a replacement.
            Hope it works.
