    ASUS states that you can run Cu chips on the P2B-S on R1.04 and above. They don't ever talk about the earlier revs except to say that they don't support Cu chips. Users have experienced success with these earlier revs. I found a user that stated he got a FCPGA 850 to run (3 months now) on a Abit SlotKET!!! at 1.80v and 112 FSB on my MB, R1.03 P2B-S w/ 1012 BIOS. I also located that article that documented the jumper settings for FSB up to 133 MHz. superfly ... do you know the settings for 150? You can double-check the MB rev number as its written right on the MB, under the "P2B-XX" label, above the PCI slots and between the DIMM slots and the CPU.

      Honestly,i don't really know why he didn't mention it,but it could be because while the adapter does indeed work,i still lose the ability to see the cpu temperature readout in the bios,so i have no idea at what temp the cpu is running at.

      The motherboard itself does support temperature monitoring,but only when slot 1 cpu's are being used,so i'm guessing that there may be some slight differences in the adapter that prevent the bios from showing the cpu temp.

      As far as the cpu id goes,my guess is that there may be some minor differences between the intel cpu's and cyrix ones,even though they have the same number of pins.

      There's 2 specific jumpers on the asus adapter...

      Jumper n*6 is there to be able to run either an intel chip(pins 1-2)or the cyrix joshua chip(pins 2-3).

      Jumper n*7 is there to be able to tell apart a coppermine p3(pins 1-2 and 3-4)from a celeron chip(pins 2-3).

      Hope that helps.... .

      The board i'm using a p2b-f,version 1.0,the only diference is that the board has one extra pci slot,but other than that is identical to the p2b and the vrm on the board won't go lower than 2.0v.(double checked the production nember again).

      the board was purchased about six months before the first coppermine cpu's were available and the board itself was made in early 99.

      Here's the settings for 150mhz fsb:

      fs0--->pins 1 and 2.
      fs1---> // 2 and 3.
      fs2---> // 1 and 2.
      fs3---> // 1 ans 2.
      note to self...

      Assumption is the mother of all f***ups....

      Primary system :
      P4 2.8 ghz,1 gig DDR pc 2700(kingston),Radeon 9700(stock clock),audigy platinum and scsi all the way...

        ... that's one more FSB jumper than on the other P2Bs. I think I'll settle for the 850 at 112 MHz.
