  • Anyone tried a Kyro ?

I'm considering buying a Kyro for my gaming rig, does any of you fellow MURC'ers have any experience with Kyro based cards ?

Well depends, what would you like to know.

The price is very nice. A 64MB version will cost you the same or less then a GF2MX 32MB. It also does have a lot of features (including the very familiar EMBM), very good image quality (compared to nvidia's attempts at gfx cards ).

It does not have a T&L unit, but with the aid of HSR, it is able to keep up with the MX and outperforms it in a non-T&L games. It also does not suffer from any speed decreases when playing in 32bit, and there are no sudden drops/jerks in framerate.

www.paraknowya.de has a lot of info on those cards
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

I'm trying to make up my mind whether to get a Kyro or a Radeon SDR (no Radeon LE in Denmark ), so far I'm leaning towards to Kyro.

BTW thanks for the link, great site for Kyro info.
