OH MY GAWD!!!! I picked up The Monitor from the trucking company last night. I guess that's the prefered way to ship these beasts. I have had the resolution up to 2048 x 1536 which is too small for my old eyes to read text....LOL....

For now I'm back down to a stretched 1280 x 960. I need to get/create some custom resolutions for this wide format.

UT is amazing on a monitor this size. I played at 1152 x 864 and 1280 x 960. I just have to stretch the picture a bit to fill the screen.

As far as the variable Dot Pitch goes I can't see any degredation from center to edge with text. The .23mm dot pitch on this is noticably better than the .25mm on my older Trinitron monitor. The two wires that support the aperature grill are very faint, not as noticeable as on the older Sony monitors that I have used. On this monitor one wire is in the middle and the other is about 3/4 of the way up from the bottom.

Sony also packages a nice BNC and a 15 pin D-sub cable with the monitor. I'm using the BNC of course.

It also dwarfs my 21" monitor. I'll have to post a side by side picture of the two running in Dual Head when I get home from work.

If I can only quit drueling on my keyboard while I use this monster

            Wow, looks very nice

The 2 monitors match up heightwise quite well.

Finally got a Toshiba 16X/48X: SD-M1502 DVD Player.

I also created some new 16:10 custom resolutions and a few 16:9 resolutions to use for DVD. Damn, it's nice to see a full screen DVD.

                Here's a 16:10 screen shot from UT at 1024 x 576 one of UT's wide format resolutions.
