Well, I wouldn't call the PS2 theoretical, but I wouldn't call it real in my case either. Still waiting for a combination of availability and the chu-ching in my pocket to get one.
bWhy do today what you can put off until tomorrow? But why put off until tomorrow what you can put off altogether?

U misread.
The spec's of PS2,offered by sony, are theoretical, and you will never seen those numbers in real games. Many developers doubt it's possible to achive those numbers in a fixed benchmark. The number of 66million triangles/sec is theoretical. The only way it'll hit those numbers is if there are absolutely NO textres or effects. The simplest texture or effect would make that 66 t/s number dwidle. Also EVERY vertices MUST be attached, and ever triangle mush share 2 vertices with another triagle. If your smart enuf to understand what I just said, you'll know that that will nver happen a real life game.
The same could be said about the t/s numbers about the X-box.
Nintendo on the otherhand, hasn't release the theoretical number for the GameCube. One reason may be becuase of a machine code named Dream Machine was hyped sooo much, and didn't deliver. It was the N64. They were over budgeted, and couldn't release it in it's extremely hi-priced state, so they toned it down in performance so it was afforable enuf.
Anothe reason why no theoretical specs were released is because they simply sucked. Maybe the system's complex design, just suks at spitting out non-textured, twin shared vertex triangles. But just because it suks at spitting out the ugly types of useless graphics that will nver be used in games, doesn't mean it suks at rendering REAL graphics, with REAL traingular models with multiple textures and effects.
Int he end, developers agree, neither PS2, Xbox, and GC are far ahead in graphical power. It all comes down to how easy it is to milk out their's best stuffs, and how good the games will be for them.P3 650@897 | Matrox G400 32mb SH @ 175/233 | 128mb PC133 | SB Live | winME

SteveC,
Just get an Snes Emulator with some good ROMs and VOILA a GBA!!!!!!!
You see the GFX of the GBA are not so much better than a SNES
The GBA has a 32-bit processor(in the range of 20Mhz ), but unfortunately the console has no seperate 3D processor. What this means is that the console, while as good as anything else on the market in 2D, only has the 3D capabilities of a SNES with a Super FX 2 chip, although this is still amazingly good for a handheld....
But again get a 100% free Snes emulator with some 1000 Roms and you will be happy...or get the real thing(SNES) for a extremely cheap priceAthlon Thunderbird 1.1Ghz@1.2~1.3+GHz Socket A 256Kb,Asus A7V dipswitches,GlobalWin FOP32-1 heatsink,GlobalWin 802 Advance ATX Case, 17" Sony Multiscan 200PST,384MB Crucial PC133 CAS=2,ATI Radeon 32Mb DDR,(Matrox Millenium G400 MAX 32MB 5ns SGRAM),IBM Deskstar 75GXP 15Gb UltraATA/100, Quantum Firebal EL 10.2Gb,Hewlett Packard DeskJet 970Cxi,Epson Perfection 1240U Scanner,Sound blaster Live!,Cambridge Soundworks 5.1,Creative PC-DVD 5X,CDR-RW Ricoh MP7040S@MP7060S(Tweaked from 4x--->6x with no problem),Adaptec SCSI 2920C,Diamond SupraExpress 56e PRO,Iomega Zip Drive.

I want a GBA!
Anyone know when they'll be released in the UK? June 11th is the Japan release date...
I played on one back at ECTS last year - they're very cool! I have always hated nintendo, and still think that the n64 and especially the Game Cube is total crap, but this GameBoy Advance looks cool!
Some screenies for you:

Gameboy Advance - European Release Date Confirmed
Posted on Wednesday, 21 March 2001 at 9:03 GMT
Not strictly DVD related, but still of interest to a lot of you:
Nintendo have confirmed the European release date for their new handheld console the Gameboy Advance - 22 June. The expected launch price is to be 120-130 Euros (£76-£82) and so far 10 titles have been confirmed as making up the launch lineup:
Super Mario Advance, Kuru Kuru Kururin, F-Zero: MAXIMUM VELOCITY, Castlevania, Konami Krazy Racers, Rayman Advance, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Ready 2 Rumble: Round 2, GT Championship and Tweety and The Magic Jewels.
In addition to this, a further 40 titles are expected in time for Christmas including the superb Mario Kart Advance which has to be played to be believed. Software releases are likely to retail at around the £30 price point - a little excessive for what are essentially in a lot of cases just direct transfers of old SNES games.

I've still got a Sega Game Gear!!
Why Sega didn't exploit that machine to it's full potential I'll never know.
OK, so battery life was non-existant, but it really was a neat piece of kit and with a natty little adaptor you could play all the Master System cartidges on it too.
*Sobs*
I want more games for my game gear!!It cost one penny to cross, or one hundred gold pieces if you had a billygoat.
Trolls might not be quick thinkers but they don't forget in a hurry, either

The only reason why the game gear wasn't succesful was because it was pitted against the Gameboy. The same can be said about the Neo Geo. There simply isn't enough developer support, even the texnology is obviously superior.
But the GBA isn't a Neo Geo or a GG. It's a Gameboy, with Pokemon to back it up (sadly). It's gonna be succesful wheter u like it or not. I just wish Nintendo wouln't focus so much of it's handheld muscle into Pokemon.P3 650@897 | Matrox G400 32mb SH @ 175/233 | 128mb PC133 | SB Live | winME

I have an Atari Lynx. Bigger screen, color, and you got great Atari games. Never got too popular so there was a limited amount of games. I always looked it as the BetaMax of handhelds.
