btw they now say the a3 stepping isn't defect and they start mass producing the chips, elsa say they'll release boards using it in the second, maybe first week of april..

Trouble with Compression


Video adapters based on NVIDIA's GeForce3 GPU will not be released until mid April. The current revision A5 of the GeForce3 is suffering from texture compression problems. The repaired revision A6 of the GeForce3 won't start shipping to manufacturers until the second week of April.

NVIDIA probably will not suffer any significant effect from this delay, since the firm already has the fastest current graphics processing unit in the GeForce2 Ultra. The GeForce3 will come with more than 57m transistors. That's more transistors than found in today's microprocessors.

So they are now needing a 7th revision, although they just started going into mass production ???

Anybody fom NVidia lurking here and might want to clarify that controversy ?
