Typical role of computer= mobile or docking system??

I have a laptop that i'm trying to speed up by freeing resources,would the typical role be desktop or mobile. May sound like a stupid question but just not sure which is best(not even sure what docking system is. Would it benifit to set a perm swap on a system that is just a Dell pentium 75 with only 32 mb ram, if so what might the best swap size be? Thanks

typical role = mobile would free u some resources assigned as a hard disk cach.
a permenant swap file would be good too if u have enough free space on the hard disk.
for 32 ram i think u'd need more than 100 MB swap ??
