  • 2 little questions about cpu temp and cooling

1- I've had a water cooler on my p3-667 on a asus p3b-f mobo. I had some probs with this board so I changed it to a cusl2-c. After I did that, the cpu temp rised from 0C-2C to 60C-65C. What could be the reason?

2- I've checked on intel.com for the specs of my cpu and saw that my cpu max temp is 82C.... i've seen it rise to 102C once and it's still working... does that means that the specs aren't accurate?

Your CPU was never at 0C. But 60 sounds a little high. How much are you overclocking? Voltage?

My Celeron 533A@800@1.6v only runs at 44c(111f) under a load with a case temp of 33c(91f) using a Alpha PAL6035 cooler. If you're using water cooling and assuming that's an accurate reading you're getting something isn't installed right.

I'm not overclocking.... well, at least I did not overclock with that cooler... i'm at 825 now (667@825 - 165 fsb) with retail intel cooler.... and the temps barely goes over 50C at default voltage.

        What could be misinstalled?

Oh and an other question.... When I had my p3b-f + water cooler the cpu temp was near 0C... when that was getting to that temp, the asus probe was returning "getting temp failed".... is this normal?

I don't think that the temperature probe is able to handle subzero temperatures

Ok... i was wondering why some people were able to have sub zero tmps with their sensors... they must had used an external one.

Anyway i'll stick with intel retail cooler since i had a lot better temps with it even in overclocking.
