  • Creative 3D Blaster & AGP X 4

Arghhh...pressed for time, no time to research on my own so asking for a little help from you smart types.

Selling a friend my Abit KT7A RAID board. He got a Creative 3D Blaster ANNIHILATOR 2 32MB vid card for it. Naturally I had to try it in mine. (I swear the Elsa version of the GeForce2 GTS chip that I tried prior had better 2D display).

Anyhow, SiSoft reports AGP X2, the Blaster diagnostics reports X4 in the control panel. So which is right? I see you can set the different rates in the Blaster control panel.

Use the PCIlist program and see what it says your card is using... then you can assume that the best two out of three wins...

(I have the creative card you are talking about and I think the 815 chipset has crisper 2D IMHO)

Any other questions about the card.. just ask

The CL drivers that have the utility are not that good, they will even say you have 4X when you don't even have AGP enabled

        Thanks for the responses.

If I change the AGP rate from X1, X2 and X4 in the CL Blaster Control, it changes 3D MARK 2000 scores so something is happening. Goes from 5914, to 6,563 to 7,033. Everything at stock clock settings, ASUS A7M266 board.

You could also use WCPUID. It never lied to me when I ran my old CL GF2 on my VIA dually; AGP 4x was fine.
