  • DX 8.0a update?

I'm installing Win98 on my new removable boot drive (first install in two years!!!) and I want to get feedback on how stable DX 8.0a is versus DX 7. It seemed many people were running into problems with the initial release, DX 8.0, but I haven't heard much about the sub-release. What do you folks think?

I have been running it for a little more than a week, and so far have had no problems, with games or dvd-playback.

Thanks for the feedback. I take it this was on WinME? I'm debating on installing it on Win98. Tomorrow I'll be installing W2K Advanced Server and I think I'll install it there unless somebody screams. Was not so sure about installing it on Win98.

            I've got 8.0a installed on 98SE (Tribes2 needs it).

No problems here. I recently switched to the 6.51 drivers, but everything else in sig is accurate.

Thanks all! I'll go ahead and take the plunge with Win98 and DX 8.

Looking forward to doing the W2K AS install on my second removable boot drive later today.
