  • I need to get me a woman here!

Right, now that I have your attention, any eligible females around?

Now that I've lost your attention...I'm having a problem with my MAX's TV-out cable...in that it's 2 male 'phono' sockets, and 2 female S-VHS sockets I've to connect!

So, I presume I have a UK connector...but how do you connect the max to the TV? Am I missing something? Are there more adaptors available?

    Thanks in advance,

Paul. (who's not been around much recently )

If your TV doesn't do S-VHS, as in no connectors available, but it does have a SCART connector, I would opt for the solution of finding the SCART connector with the VHS in, as is used by many video-cameras.

As to a woman... errrm, does she need to be single, or is it just for chatting and meeting without anything else?

My TV does do VHS, but it's a female mini-DIN! The cable I have is also a female DIN (with different number of pins btw)! Should the cable connect right in to my TV? Or is it normal to need an adaptor? (ie: do I have the correct cable)

As for a woman, erm, as long as noone knows I met her on the Internet I'll be happy

        Howdy Paul.

Can't help you with the girls, but I might get your other thing plugged ...

I have no clue what cable you sticked into your MAX, but ...

On the MAX you a have female VGA2 output.
In there you probably already plugged your Matrox VGA-2-TV converter cable that offers output for FBAS (composite signal, single female cinch plug) and Y/C (s-video signal, single female 7 (?) pin mini-DIN plug)

Since you said your TV would host also a female mini-DIN plug (only 4 pins needed for y/c transmission), all you need is a standard s-video cable that comes with one male 4 pin mini-DIN plug on each end.

Or did I miss your point completely ?

        Cheers,
        Maggi

          Surely that'd be a 7pin M to 4pin M?

And I guess any reputable dealer will have this in stock?

Matrox use the same 7 pin plug all over the world so they dont have different leads for different places. A std 4 pin S-VHS lead fits on there just lovely. ATi do the same thing, as do Sigma. Just plug it in and away you go.

Some applications (not programs) use the other pins for sound. Not the G400 tho.

            cheers
