  • Grrr Crappy Abit Kt7a 133 board

Bugger it after getting it stable for about month it's now back to it's old tricks. Freezing i/o errors on the highpoint controller.
The only thing that has changed is the Bios so I'm flashing that back the previous version and sp2 and I've noticed that the power voltage has dropped to 11.65 volts with odd plunge to 11.31 volts which says to me thats part of the problem if not all of it. So theres a new one on it's way.
So if it keeps crashing after that and removing the other changes (I think I'II do the Bios flash after the power supply) I can see the recycle bin coming.

My KT7 is usually at 12.1V
Your problem seems definitely PS related.
Do you have a high current fan connected to the mobo fan header?
I have an Inwin Q500 with a 300W power supply and I don't run the Delta Fan from the fan header.

Lucky or not, I've had little to no trouble with my KT7A-RAID. Using an Enermax 450W, dual fan PSU. (Replaced the dead/dying PC&C 425ATX - waiting on a definitive test method to verify it's flakiness - however, after motherboard, ZipDrive, and Kenwood 72X IDE CDROM all dying at the same time, I'm thinking it may have a problem.)

Good luck with the PSU replacement.

Well the new power supply is in and the voltage has stopped wondering. However still getting problems with the highpoint controller with time out errors.
I've flashed back tp the prev bios and still the same. Only Sp2 left.

Well the high point controller is now unused.
If I attach the hard disks to it I get the odd entry in event viewer and a freeze. If I swap the dvd drive onto it the event viewer fills with errors in a matter of seconds.
Looks like it's toast to me.
