    I guess the subject says it all, when was this chip released?

    I believe it was in 1996. Not sure though.

      That sounds about right. It was considered at the time that the perfect combo was a Millennium with a 3dfx Voodoo board, in fact this site for some time was a joint Matrox/3dfx site to reflect that

          I recently got a Voodoo2 for my secondary system, it still runs UT pretty darned good

            I had my 4MB Monster 3D (Voodoo Graphics) add on card back in 1997... Quake 2 at 640x480 16bit 40fps, holy crap how we loved that!
            Look, I know you think the world of me, that's understandable, you're only human, but it's not nice to call somebody "Vain"!

              Oh yeah; and then came the 3dfx patches for carmageddon and interstate '76... I have never been so happy in my entire life. (eventho in my case it was S3 virge and 3dfx voodoo gfx)
              Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

                When the original voodoo came out.

                All this was fields, children respected their elders and you could leave your front door unlocked.
