  • best deal?: IIIxe+internetkit £84.26 or IIIc+internetkit for £199.98

The only differences in these two units are as follows:

    1. Color - the 3c has it and the 3xe doesn't.

    2. The 3c charges in the base, the 3xe needs 2 AAA's (but they last a lot longer than the rechargeable).

    3. The 3c is bigger/bulkier.

Now, is the color worth an extra hundred and ten pounds? Not if you ask me. If you're gonna waste the money on color, get a better unit than the 3c, which is pretty bulky. I don't know what prices are like in that part of the world, but Sony's new Clie700 is very nice (reads memory sticks and plays MP3's), as is the Visor Prism...

If I had to choose between those two units (and I did, when the 3c first came out), I'd pick the 3xe. In fact, I picked the 3x (with only 4MB). But you need to decide if 8-bit color is worth the extra money to you.

    Hi
I'm on holiday - will be travelling back through Gatwick on Monday. The iiixe deal is available in Dixons. The iiic deal is through Dabs.

    Any opinions?

    Cheers

    Tony.

      Thanks Gurm

That's pretty much what I thought. I think I remember a review saying the only reason for the 3c was if you have to have colour. I'd prefer it, but I won't pay the extra £115 if there are better colour machines available at that price. It's a bit difficult to research at the moment. I think the 3xe will go down better domestically too!

      Cheers, Tony.
