MoBo auto-detecting cpu speed :(

my motherboard is auto-detecting my cpu speed... but i dont want it to... i dont wanna overclock it but it's faster if u specify urself so the mobo doesnt hafta detect speed everytime...

i changed the dip switch settings so i can specify myself... yet it wont let me set it manually.... i even tried a lower cpu setting... but still autodetects it...

You probably missed another jumper or dip-switch, so your board is still auto-detecting. Check your board on the website of Gigabyte, and if necessary update the BIOS (also very useful)

OMG... my manual is all f*cked up.... it isnt accurate... i changed my settings to 7x100fsb and it showed 1.1 ghz.... i turned my computer off right away and changed it back...

I cant believe they screwed the dip switch settings in the manual up.... and there is no updated manual on the website.... im guessing that i need to use the manual from another motherboard..

this is truly ridiculous.... im steamed

Hey Dude... you can't change the multiplyer for the Cele II that is why even with the dip switches you cannot select 7.0x

The Processor over-rides the bios settings.

733 = 11x66Mhz

Sorry to break the bad news to you.. but unless you want to kill your processor... or OC it to unbelievable levels... you must pick some FSB that will work with an 11x Multiplier.

oh i c... its not my mobo.. its my CPU (and me!!).. i c thx this info is very helpful...

i could try 75x11=825 mhz??.... thats not too high... if i see a difference i'll keep it....

I would have posted earlier.. but it didn't kick in until later what the problem was..
