  • RGB to Component and MythTV.

From what I can gather, the G400 can output RGB. Well, according to the specs on my brother's 55" Mitsubishi TV (I think the model number is WS-55809) it supports RGB/Component. So what kind of cable would I need? The RGB to SCART type one?

    The other topic; MythTV.

What is everyone's impressions? Does it work well? From what I've seen of it (and I played with it a little bit quite some time ago) it looks really sweet. Though more recently I decided to try and get it to work on my Ubuntu installation using their packages... but MySQL didn't like it for some reason... then my PC blew up, but that's for another story......

there are many different forms of RGB, see which kind the TV supports. SCART RGB that most PAL TVs have is RGB with composite sync.

Component (YPrPb) is something else altogether.

Didn't get MythTV working with my RRG and DirectFB last time I tried. Might try again on a spare box in the future.

I was just wondering if the TV would auto-detect whether or not it was just RGB or a full Component output. It does say it supports RGB/ Component. And yes, I knew component was something entirely different than RGB. Actually, eventually I'll get my own huge TV and I'll make sure it has either a DVI or VGA connector on it.....

Once I can get my motherboard replaced, I'll give MythTV another shot...
