If you now don't want to hang the speakers, have a look at the Teufels again, Concept R, for instance. Quite unexpensive, and good looking.

KvH: I've heard Monitor Audio speakers, and they sound awesome (esp. considering their size).
az: Chances are they would be placed on a shelf.
Guess I'll have to wait until they make up their minds. Thanks again for the info!

Jörg, then check most of the other Teufel options. They are really, really highly recommended here (the higher-end sets being reference in many publications, and the cheaper ones just being very very good value. They all come with twelve years warranty and eight weeks try-out period at home). Philips use Teufel systems to demonstrate their flatscreens in their Eindhoven central.

B&W have some nifty in-wall speakers.
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

Anyone thought of Klipsch ?
I have SF-1's on my PC (no tv). Its a 5.0 system, since the column main speakers are good enough in the bass area. The surrounds fit nicely on shelves, and the sound is astronomic.
Klipsch uses a tweeter-medium horn that is just perfect.
Klipsch also do smaller speakers.
and i recommend getting them from a wholesaler, or online, as last seasons stuff, or even two years ago stuff.
I got mine for 60% off, it still cost 650 quid, but i wont be needing any other speakers for a long long while.
