Recommend me some speakers!

What amp are you using and what are the speakers for?

Is it a stereo setup? Front speakers for home theatre? Do you have or will you want a sub?

Stereo, no Amp yet (will get something used off ebay, probably japanese - denon, yamaha, onkyo... - or NAD). Sub shouldn't be necessary, and I doubt I would get good sounding speakers plus fitting sub for a better price than good sounding speakers that have good bass themselves.

Go with a stereo NAD amp, stay away from multichannel receivers, the numbers look nice, but the sound not so much.

Like the others said, you probably couldn't go wrong with B&W.

Oh, with Amps, if you can do without remote control, van Medevoort amps are great with Quadral's.

Quite often, the MA-111 is offered for sale for around 250 to 300. It's an integrated amp without r/c. It's the one I have and I find it is terrific at driving the Quadral Shogun (and am convinced it would do as well with the Amun).

The only setup I've heard with it that is better is my friends'. Sonic Frontier Line-3 pre-amp and 2xMonarchy SM-70 Pro PAs. Some $5000 or so....

The monetary situation is clear now, and unfortunately, it'll be used Quadrals with a cheap japanese amp at most, if at all
