Errr silly question coming up

Got a Terretec Universe sound card which has optical outputs. Connected to this is one very nice LCD TV.

Since I haven't surround speakers connected to this I would like to connect this soundcard to my Creative DDTS decoder via it's optical inputs.

Sounds easy well when I connect it and select the input theres no sound. I'm using cyberlink with spdiff enabled.

So what am I missing????

Connecting the TV for TV Broadcasts same result whatever place I feed it too.

Maybe the optical outs have to be enabled in the soundcard mixer, or set to SPDIF passthrough or something like that. Have a look in the soundcard manual.

Ah one subtle setting in the terretec module. You've got to set spdif input too Wave and then it works.

The only thing I didn't try.
