I just tried it with Q2 which is the only OpenGL game I have installed at the moment and I'm running all the apps in W2K.

        ok ..
quake 2 still has the same performance ...
        BUT ...
OGL screen savers doesn't any problems now as they used to .. ( can't shutdown windoze unless i end task 3dflying object ) ..
although i'm not sure if this was due to that sgi patch or not .. coz i lost hope on the OGL screensavers long time ago ...
thanx again Markus .. ur the man
don't know about winamp plug ins though .. but i might give it a try .. which one is know to cause problems ??

          hmmmm ..
after doing further investigation .. i found that i still have problems with 3 OGL screen savers .. while 3d pipes and 3d maze doesn't cause ay problems .. others do ..
          this is really strange ..!!

            Hi Arbymo,

            that is really strange ...

Maybe that patch was originally intended for Windows95 ...

Any particular reason why you stay with Bios1.6 & PD 4.51 ?

              Hey folks,
I'm still having the same problems with OGL screensavers in that I have to "end task" the screensavers to recover my system after my monitor switches to powersaving mode. Otherwise they work great. Any comments?

              My system: 300A celery @ 464MHz, G200 w/8MB SGRAM, PD 5.13, BIOS 1.6, 128MB PC100 SDRAM, WIN 98.

              Later,

                hmmm ..
                staying with 4.51 and bios 1.6 ??
                i dunno ..
maybee i'm too lazy to upgrade ..;-)
i'm quite happy with performance in D3D and OGL .. ( i posted my qauke 2 scores in the gamin thread )
seeing alot of people having too many problems with the 5.13 drivers and the lack of the uninstaller at that time made me wait for a while, but i'm downloading the new drivers and the uninstaller right now ..
if i really wanted the new drivers, it won't matter for the uninstaller ( format c:/s/q/u is pretty cool ;-) )
i'll give it a try and see what i get.
btw what did you mean by : maybee that patch was originally intended for Windows95 ...??
i'm using osr2 right now .. Grum made me think of Win98 could have better performance especially the AGP 2X issue ..
for the bios i'm now really confused ..
someone mentioned that if your card bios doesn't show at the boot up of the pc .. then you have one of those locked bioses !!
i have this issue ... unlike other vga cards i used .. this card bios doesn't show up at the start !!
besides .. does the new bios really affect the performance of the card ?? would it affect it's overclockability too ?? ( this is really important
as many people here said the bios upgrade didn't solve any of thir problems .. i'm still reluctant to the bios upgrade
btw Markus .. i remember you said you an SiS6326 AGP before ? or that wasn't you ??
anyone had any luck running the new DX6-OGL drivers for this card posted at SiS site ?
thanx again and sorry for the long post .
