  • G200 BusMastering problem

    Is anybody having a problem with using busmastering on a G200 installed in a PII-350 ASUS P2B with WIN-98 SE and DIRECT-X 6.1a ?

Every time I try to run DXDIAG I cannot get all the way through the tests without crashing. I have gone through the entire IRQ/BIOS/DRIVER/RE-FORMAT/REINSTALL juggle with no success. 5.13 drivers just cause my system to hang on boot-up.

Matrox has no idea what the problem is.

    In short..... HELP !

    Thanks

    Robert

When the G200 was released I had the same problem with a P2L97-S board. The card worked fine with NT, but whatever I tried, I never managed to get D3D busmastering to work with Win95/98 - it always crashed the system.

Geez I've repeated this little story over and over again. After a month or two of analysing, reinstalling and tweaking I gave up and bought a BH6. End of story, problem solved.

How does this help you? I guess it doesn't. A quick fix may be to try another G200, or another AGP card if you like.
